Introspection, an element which we as Mason’s should consider daily. You may well ask Why?
Introspection means that one should examine one’s own thoughts and feelings. What does that have to do with our craft? Everything – as we profess that it is our aim to make the world in which we live a better place for all who live in it.
If we are angry with the world, we are surely in an unhappy space. How can we then live up to the expectation that we want to make the world a better place. Surely, we must start with ourselves. We should examine the motives which brought us to the Order. In the Chamber of Meditation we are confronted with statements which start that process of introspection. We are exhorted to examine those motives which led us to the Order.
